How do I setup a DM-100 handheld for a point of sale (POS) system?

  • How do I setup a DM-100 for a POS system?

Environment

  • Product: Fuelight or DataMaster, FL-3000, Gas Price or Petroleum Price Display
  • Component:
  • Control System: POS interface kit (wired or wireless)

Steps

Note: The DM-100 menus have changed slightly between the different revisions of firmware.  Below has directions for the different menus.  The DD/ED and revision of the DM-100 is displayed on the boot up of the handheld.

  • DM-100 - DD-2256160 (3.0 or higher).
    1. Press MENU on the DM-100 handheld.
    2. Using the arrow buttons, scroll down to DISPLAY MENU and press ENTER.
    3. Using the arrow buttons, scroll to POS SETTINGS and press ENTER.
    4. Using the arrow buttons, scroll to the POS being used and press ENTER.
      • Available options:
        • NONE
        • GENERIC
        • SAPPHIRE
        • AUTOGAS
        • PAM 1000
        • ALLIED
        • GSITE/PASSPORT
    5. The DM-100 will now be prompting to set each Line Product to an appropriate value or price category so once Line 1 Product is set Press Enter to set Line 2 Product and so on.  If the Line is not being used set it to NONE.  The POS system or vendor should be able to provide the details of how to setup each Line.
    6. For newer firmware DM-100's Line Product will look like the following.

  • DM-100 - DD-2256160 (2.2 or lower) and ED-13374 (all revisions)
    1. Press MENU on the DM-100 handheld.
    2. Using the arrow buttons, scroll to POS SETTINGS and press ENTER.
    3. Using the arrow buttons, scroll to the POS being used and press ENTER.
      • Available options:
        • NONE
        • GENERIC
        • SAPPHIRE
        • AUTOGAS
        • PAM 1000
        • ALLIED
        • GSITE/PASSPORT
    4. The DM-100 will now be prompting to set each Line Product to an appropriate value or price category so once Line 1 Product is set Press Enter to set Line 2 Product and so on.  If the Line is not being used set it to NONE.  The POS system or vendor should be able to provide the details of how to setup each Line.
