No communication to display, Server radio power LED not lit, Bad Ethernet cable or coupler

Potential Symptoms

  • No communication to the display.
    • Unable to ping the display.
  • Server radio has no power going to it.  No power LED lit on server radio.

Computer directly connected to DC Injector specific symptoms

  • LED lights on the computer's NIC are off.
  • Local area connection on computer shows Media Disconnected or Cable Unplugged.

900 xTR model specific symptoms

  • Unable to ping server radio or detect it with EBR diagnostics.

  • Component: Ethernet Bridge Radios (EBRs), DC Injector (DCI) / Power over Ethernet (PoE) device
  • Control System:

Cause

  • Cat 5 cable or coupler between the DC Injector and the Server radio has failed.

Resolution

  • Replace the cable going from the POE/ DC Injector to the Server Radio.
    • Note: Re-termination of the Cat 5 cable may also resolve the issue.
Note - When reinstalling the radio cover plate do not overtighten the bolts. There is a gasket that can fail if the bolts are over tightened.
