FLR3-100 with intermittent or no communication; Poor antenna connection
Potential Symptoms
- FLR3-100 or FLR3-400 communication system with intermittent or no communications.
- FLR3-100 or FLR3-400 has very limited range.
- Unable to sync key fob remote to display, driver not seeing remote.
- Prices may change if key fob is brought closer to the antenna.
- Range may decrease over time and possibly stop communicating or be unable to change prices at all.
- May find user has to be closer to get into edit mode (decimal flashing) then can back up further to change price on the digits, but range is still limited (much shorter than the suggested range of 100ft).

- Product: FL-3000, FL-4500, Fuelight, Gas Price or Petroleum Price Display, FL digit product
- Component: Antenna Receiver assembly
- Control System: FLR3-100, FLR3-400 Key Fob (Wireless Communication Option)
Cause
- Antenna is not tightly attached (possibly due to incorrect assembly of antenna and all of its parts).
- Example: Most common issues are a missing washer, loose nut, or it is assembled incorrectly with washer and/or nut on inside of display cabinet affecting the ground plane of antenna to the cabinet.
- Example: Another common issue is the locking washer was installed backwards. We want the locking (teeth) part of the washer to be facing the Display.
Resolution
- Tighten antenna coaxial connection until it is finger tight and antenna is at 90 degrees and pointing up following the FLR3-100 Installation Quick Guide or pointing straight out following the FLR3-400 Installation Quick Guide .
- Ensure that nut and washer is present on the outside of the display between antenna and face of display (washer first, followed by nut, and then the antenna) on the coaxial connection with locking teeth of the washer facing the display.
