D-Link USB to Ethernet adapter will not install using Daktronics installation CD, Windows already installed driver
Potential Symptoms
- When trying to run the Daktronics installer for D-Link USB to Ethernet adapter, installer states that the D-Link adapter is not present even though it is plugged into the computer.
- When viewing Device Manager, the D-Link adapter shows up in "network adapters" section with no driver alerts.
- When viewing the computer's network adapters page, D-Link adapter is present as an adapter.
Environment
- D-Link USB to Ethernet adapter (DUB E-100)
Cause
- Windows already installed D-Link USB to Ethernet adapter's driver when the adapter was plugged into the computer.
Resolution
- Set IP of D-Link USB to Serial adapter to communicate with display.

- (NOTE: The D-Link IP gets set automatically using Daktronics installer, but will not be set if D-Link USB to Ethernet adapter is installed from D-Link website or Windows).
