Columbus Hosts Largest Daktronics Indoor Video Display in a Nebraska High School

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 21, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, announces an order for multiple displays from Columbus High School in Nebraska, most notably for the largest indoor video display in a Nebraska High School gymnasium. The new displays were unveiled to the public at Columbus High School's open house March 20, 2017.

Columbus recently built a new high school, generating demand for new digital signage throughout the facility. A 12-foot-wide by 7-foot-tall video board featuring 6-millimeter line spacing showcases students' athletic prowess, along with a fixed-digit scoreboard flanked by stat panels on either side. Two auxiliary fixed-digit scoreboards increase visibility for fans throughout the gym and shot clocks keep time for making baskets.

Not to be outdone, the school's auxiliary gym also received a new fixed-digit scoreboard with stat panels and an auxiliary scoreboard. The junior varsity football team has a new scoreboard to call their own and a marquee in front of the school keeps the public abreast of announcements.

"By far, Columbus High has the nicest indoor high school scoreboard in the state of Nebraska," said Chris Popowski, Daktronics Sports Marketing Regional Manager. "Not only is the video resolution impressive, but just the size of the display itself. Combined with its bells and whistles, it's a fantastic addition to the new facility."

Columbus High School Activities  Director Dave Hiebner couldn't agree more. "Columbus is extremely proud of the new high school; our goal was to provide our students with the best. We wanted not only quality scoreboards but a video board to showcase our students and open doors to new opportunities.

"Daktronics was chosen because of the quality of their products and their customer service history. The video board and scoreboards are something the Columbus community and Columbus High School will be proud of for years to come."
