Audio Architect indicates devices are offline, or how do I go online.

Potential Symptoms

  • What do I do if Audio Architect indicates devices are offline?
  • The custom user interface panel's indicators that show online status for devices, such as amps and DSPs, are red or indicate that devices are offline.
  • Message:  "Device and Custom Panels are unavailable in this mode"
  • How can I monitor my system and/or adjust parameters and levels?

Environment

  • Product Family:  Audio Systems
  • Product:  Custom Audio
  • Component:  Harman (Crown, BSS) based systems ( BLU-50; BLU-100; BLU-###; Contrio, Crown DCI, CTS, etc.  )
  • Control System:  Audio Architect

Resolution

  • Audio Architect cannot monitor or operate the system if it is not communicating with the devices, some possible causes that can be fixed by the steps indicated below are:
    • Devices may be powered off, or are not communicating on the network
    • The proper network adapter may not be selected
    • The IP address does not match the system's IP Scheme
    • The software has not been synchronized with the system
    • Some devices were missed during synchronization
  1. Synchronize the software with the system
    1. After opening the Audio Architect file from the desktop, Minimize the custom panel if it pops up so the main Audio Architect software shows on screen
    2. Verify the correct network adapter is being used by clicking File, Application Options, Network Connectivity and verifying the correct adapter is shown under Ethernet Interfaces, if not, use Add Connection to add the correct adapter.
      1. Verify this adapter is set to the correct IP range to match the IP address of devices on the network
    3. Verify at the top right of the software that the numbers after Venue and Detected match.  If not, a device may be off or not communicating on the network and will require network troubleshooting

    4. Some systems may require clicking on the orange Go Online button first, found under the Offline Design tab at the top of the software, if this is not present, continue to step 5
    5. Verify the Match Devices button is selected under the Online Operate Tab
    6. All devices on screen should say MATCHED and have a green dot next to them, if not, Click the Match Devices tab and click Auto-Match Venue

    7. Verify at the top right of the software that the numbers after Venue, Detected, and Matched match, if not try Auto-Match again in case some devices weren't powered on yet

    8. Return to the Online Operate tab and click Synchronize Venue
    9. Click the R (Receive) button at the bottom of any virtual racks on screen and any additional devices
      1. If an L shows by any device, contact Daktronics support
    10. Verify at the top right of the software that the numbers after Venue, Detected, Matched, and Synchronized now match.
    11. Re-Open the custom panel from the taskbar or launch it from the Panels section at the top of the screen.
    12. All indicators should now show green or normal
    13. If all indicators still do not show green or normal, locate any devices that are not online and see if the device may need to be powered on, configured, or repaired.

For Temporary Operation

The audio system will still pass audio as long as nothing was muted in the software the last time it was connected and all devices are operating properly, monitoring will not work when not synchronized and any adjustments made on the user panel when the software is not synchronized will not adjust the system.
