Diagnostic Alert: "Communication Error", Gateway is set incorrectly
Potential Symptoms
- DMP and VIP are both showing Offline in Venus Control Suite (VCS), however the display can be pinged and the web configuration page can be accessed locally.
- With a VCS local host system, display may be online, but does not update content.

Environment

Cause
- VIP is configured with the wrong gateway IP address.
- Or, the establishment changed the routing through their network but did not update the gateway on the controller.
Resolution
- Enter the correct gateway IP address in the VIP web configuration page.
- You may need to consult with the site's IT department to verify what Gateway the controller needs.
- Refer to How to change the IP settings on a GS6 display, DD3210983.
- For a VCS local host system not using a router, Gateway can be left blank or can be set to the VCS server machine IP.
