Diagnostic Alert: Thermal Dimming, VIP-5060

Potential Symptoms

  • Display may appear dim.
  • At least 10% of the display's modules have exceeded their thermal high trip point.

IDM / System Health Event(s)

  • Thermal Dimming alert present.

Environment

  • VIP-5060

Cause

  • Fan trip points on the VIP-5060 are set too high.

Resolution

  • Lower fan trip points in the VIP configuration.
    1. Log into VIP.
    2. Click on the Advanced tab and then the Configuration heading.
    3. In the Search box, search for "Fan".
    4. Under FanTripCelsius, adjust the High to 50, and low to 40.
    5. Click Send Configuration.
