Display controller is not receiving correct temperature data; Loose ribbon cable

Potential Symptoms

  • Temp on display may be reading NA even though:
    • Temp sensor has been replaced
    • There is proper voltage to the controller and temp sensor.
    • Temp sensor is on address 1 and wired up correctly.
  • The temperature that is displayed on the sign is much lower than actual temperature, but it is not displaying the default temp of the controller (31 instead of 75).

Cause

  • Loose ribbon cable between input Quick Connect (QC) and display controller.

Resolution

  • Reseat ribbon cable connections at both the input QC card and the display controller.
