Cannot change prices on gas display, poor line of site, reposition serial server or client radio

Potential Symptoms

  • No communication with dm-100 and gas displays.
  • No led on server radio for communication.
  • No Line of Site (LOS).
  • Signal strength has less then 4 leds lit.

Environment

  • Product Family: Digit and Price Displays
  • Product: Gen 2 or 3 Serial Radios, Fuelight ( FL ) Displays

  • Control System: DM-100

Cause

  • Server radio is not mounted according to Daktronics installation guidelines.
  • Server radio is indoors near the DM-100, and not mounted outdoors with direct line of sight to the client radio.
  • Impeded line of sight between Server and Client radio due to buildings, trees, or other obstructions.
    • Can also be intermittent if caused by something like a tall delivery truck.

Work Around

  • Move server or client radio to a spot with Line of Sight.
