DXTR: How do I create a profile in Profile Editor

Steps

Notes: If there is a Show Control Server PC on site, these changes will need to be done on that PC. Versions 2.18 and 2.19 of Display Studio will need to have their Windows shortcuts updated or Display Studio update to version 2.20 or greater. Please refer to Getting a missing shortcut message when launching Profile editor from the Windows Start Menu, Content Studio V2 has new file path if you are experiencing issues accessing the profile editor via the Windows Start Menu.

  1. Add or generate a new DID file for the input.
    1. If you already have a DID file:
      1. Move a copy of the file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Content Studio\StandardProfile.
      2. Click the + button beside the "Available DIDs" dropdown in the Manage Inputs and DIDs section.
      3. Select the appropriate .did file for DXTR and click OK.
    2. If you have an .itf instead of a .did, click the Import ITF button to convert the file to the .did format.
  2. If you are using a DMP-8000 and you have not created the .dsrc file, select the .did file under the Create DSRC Files (for 8000 Player), select the appropriate Port Type, and input the Port Number selected when setting up the DXTR outputs, then click the Generate DSRC File button.
  3. Click the + button next to the Available Inputs dropdown in the Manage Inputs and DIDs section to add a new input for DXTR.
    1. Name the input, change the Number (DMP-7000) to the appropriate RTD port if using a Venus 7000, and input the DSRC File Name (DMP-8000) if using a DMP-8000, then click OK.
  4. Under the Manage Profiles section, click the + button beside the Profile dropdown.
  5. Enter Name for the profile, such as DXTR, and click OK.
  6. Next to the Available Data Sources (Pairs) dropdown, click the + button to open the ConfigurePair window.
  7. Click on the Input dropdown and select the input created in Step 3, then click the DID dropdown and select the .did added in Step 2 and click OK.
  8. Prior to exiting the Profile Editor, click the Save Changes button.
  9. Open Content Studio to verify you are now able to create DXTR RTD content.
