Unable to communicate in Venus 1500 V4 but can ping the controller and connect in M2Config

Symptoms

  • Unable to detect display in Venus 1500 V4.
  • Keep getting connect failed error message when trying to connect to it.

Environment

  • Venus 1500
  • Galaxy Displays

Cause

  • Users security software is blocking communication.

Resolution

  • Unblock all daktronics software (Venus, Fusion, Nucleus Server) and attempt to connect again.
  • May be necessary to run a repair on the software in order to get prompts for all of the services to come up.

Work Around

  • Completely disable the security software and attempt to connect to verify if the software is the issue.
