Getting "waiting for external control" or "no server found" on the RC-100 handheld when trying to connect to display.

Potential Symptoms

  • Scoreboard is freezing.
  • When attempting to connect to the scoreboard gets "waiting for external control" error message on RC-100.
  • When attempting to connect to the scoreboard gets "no server found" error message on RC-100.

Cause

  • Failed radio card in the RC-100 base station.

Resolution

  1. Need to test the RC-100 base station to check the error code. Follow How to test RC-100 base station.
  2. Replace base station.
