DakStats, DSTI, getting DAO error in DSTI

​​​Symptoms

  • Error in DSTI.
    • DAO Exception:
    • 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\DakStats(R) %Sport%\Demo99Season\Demo99Season.mdb' is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the file resides.
    • Error Code: 3044 or Error Code 3024
    • HlpFile: jeterr40.chm 
    • HlpContext: 5003044 or 5003024
    • Application: DAO.Workspace 
  • Error in DSTI 
    • DakStats and DSTI are installed on different computers
    • Messaging configured for Different Machine (IP Network Messages) on both DakStats and DSTI
    • Error Code: 3044 or Error Code 3024
    • HlpFile: jeterr40.chm 
    • HlpContext: 5003044 or 5003024
    • Application: DAO.Workspace 

Environment

  • DakStats Basketball
  • NHL Hits Interface
  • DSTI

Cause

  • Database is in different location then DSTI is set to find it.

Resolution

    1. Remap DSTI to correct DakStats Folder.
      1. DakStats and DSTI on the same local computer:
        1. In DSTI go to Edit > Data Configuration > Database Path:  "C:\Daktronics\DakStats %Sport%\" (without quotes).
      2. DakStats and DSTI on different computers:
        1. On DakStats computer share the "C:\Daktronics" folder with full access.
        2. On DSTI computer go to Edit > Data Configuration > Database Path:  "\\[STAT_COMPUTER]\Daktronics\DakStats %Sport%\" (without quotes).
          1. For example:  "\\Stats-P\Daktronics\DakStats Baseball\" (without quotes).

     

    NOTE: Do NOT map to the database folder inside NHL Hits interface if you get this error for hockey. Map to C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\NHL Hits Interface
