Venus 1500 v4 registration will not apply, may be new install or old but is showing registration expired, Computer date or time is incorrect

Topic

  • Venus 1500 V4 was registered, and now it is requesting registration again; or, Venus says registration expired.
  • When applying registration it says an error occurred and license has already been applied; or opens the same "registration expired" window.
  • Lock code is the same as Daktronics has on file.
  • Computer lost power and reverted time back.
  • When looking at License error log see a Sentinel Error 188.
    • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Daktronics\Common\License
    • Window Vista or 7: C:\ProgramData\DAKTRONICS\Common\Licensing
    • Sentinel RMS Development Kit: Error[188]: License start date not yet reached.

  • When looking at Nucleus Server error log, see one of the following:
    • "An error occurred while retrieving software license information. Error Code: 188"
    • "Failed to load CommonPlayer add-in: Software license does not exist or has expired. Error Code: 188."
      •  Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Nucleus Server\Logs\Errors.log

The Windows Operating System date is changed to an earlier year or time. For example, the current year is 2015, the Windows 7 Operating System is set to the year 2007.

Steps

Change time on computer to display correctly.

Follow the steps below, once you determine what Operating System you have.

Windows XP: Change the Windows XP Operating system date back to the correct Month, Day, Year, and Time.

  1. Right-click on the Desktop Time (Bottom right corner), and choose Adjust date/time
  2. Under Date & Time tab:
    • Use the drop-down menus to choose the correct Month, and Year and use the Calendar to select the Date.
    • High-light the time and type in the correct time with keyboard, or use the Up and Down arrows.

  3. Click the Time Zone Tab, and make sure the correct Time Zone and DST are set correctly.
  4. Click Apply and Ok.
    • Note: If the Windows Operating System continues to default back to an earlier year, please contact your IT Department for assistance.

 

Windows Vista or 7: Change the Windows Vista or 7 Operating System date back to the correct Month, Day and Year.

  1. Right-click on the Desktop Time (Bottom right corner), and choose Adjust Date/Time.DD2408946_2b.jpg               
  2. Click Change date and time

  3. Use the Calendar to choose the correct Month, Day and Year.
  4. Use the Clock to adjust and choose the correct time.

  5. Click Ok.
  6. Click Apply and Ok.
    • Note: If the Windows 7 Operating System continues to default back to an earlier year, please contact your IT Department for assistance.
    • Note: Although the computer may now show the correct time and date, you may need to restart the computer to be able to open Venus.

Once the time on the computer has been corrected install Venus 1500 V4
