Cause

  • A Venus 1500 v4 V15NetSvr.dll component is not registered properly on the computer.

Resolution

  1. Close out of the Venus 1500 v4 software or installer.
  2. Go to Windows Start Menu.
    • Windows XP - Click Run, type CMD, click ok.
    • Windows Vista or 7 - In Search programs and Files, type CMD, right-click the filtered CMD option, and select Run as Administrator, click yes if prompted.
  3. In the Command Window type the following command:
    • 32 Bit System type: cd C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Common files
    • 64 Bit System type: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Common files
  4. Hit [Enter] key.
  5. In the Command Window type the following command: dir
  6. Hit [Enter] key.
  7. In the Command Window type the following command:
    • 32 Bit System type: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Common Files\V15NetSvr.dll"
    • 64 Bit System type: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Common Files\V15NetSvr.dll"
  8. Hit [Enter] key.
    • Screenshot below is for a Windows 64 bit system.
  9. If successful you will receive the below message:
    • DllRegisterServer in C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Venus 1500 v4\V15NetSvr.dll succeeded.
  10. If not prompted to, restart the computer to complete the registry, then continue software install or connecting to the display.
