Venus 7000: How do I import graphics

Import graphics into the DMP-7000

This provides instructions on how to convert graphics into DMP-7000 sequences through the Sequence Designer and the V7 File Converter.  The Sequence Designer provides basic editing tools and the ability to over lay data fields on the graphics.  Once the files are imported, they are display ready.

Quick Method- Save Display Ready Content to the Sign Library

The artwork dimensions should equal the pixel size of the display. Save static files as AVIs, BMPs, JPGs, PNGs, TIFs, and GIFs file formats. Animated files should be uncompressed AVI's.  

1.  Navigate to the V7000 folder. It is located in D:\V7000 or C:\V7000. Then select the appropriate sign folder.

2.  Save the creative files to the sign folder.  AVIs, BMPs, JPGs, PNGs, TIFs, and GIFs file formats can play directly from the DMP-7000.  If you need to add transitions, text or do other formatting, see the steps below. 

Importing Graphics into the Venus 7000 Sequence Designer

When the graphic is imported into the Sequence Designer, this converts BMP, JPG, PSD, TGA, or TIF files into a Venus-7000 sequence or .sq7.  The sequence designer can be used to add data elements, transitions, or text to your message. 

1.  Create a new Sequence

  1. From the V7000 shell, click on the Edit button.
  2. Click on File/New.  Click on the plus sign of the desired sign and library that you want your final sequence saved to.
  3. Double click on the desired folder. Type the desired File Name text box. Click OK

2.  Import the Creative

  1. Click on File > Import > Image/AVI.
  2. Navigate to the desired creative that you want to import, and select Open.

3.  Three boxes will appear. The Image Control window will be visible. The other two windows will represent the original and captured images.

4.  If the captured image looks correct, select OK from the Import Control Box.

3.  Delete the First Blank Frame

3.  Click on Delete Current

4.  Click Close.

4.  Adjust Frame Properties

Frame Properties are affects applied to how the message transitions, holds or transitions off the display. The properties can be customized to have a default setting. Adjust an open sequence to have properties that are used frequently, and select Frame | Set Transitions as a Default.

1.  View the current message properties. They are located at the bottom of the V7Sequence Designer.

2.  To change the message properties, click Properties to open the Frame Properties window.

3.  Make the necessary adjustments to the properties, and select OK.

Note: Use the Range of Frames option to apply the same properties to multiple frames.

5.    Preview and save the sequence.

3.    Save the sequence by selecting File | Save.
