TriCaster: Not interfacing with SCS, DMP-8000 VNet

Potential Symptoms

  • Not able to post any content through the TriCaster (i.e. no video  or DMP-8000 (VNet), but Show Control (SCS) will display the scripts.
  • No video content from TriCaster is playing/passing through to the DMP-8000 player

Environment

  • DVX 101
  • VIP-4060 ,PLR
  • DMP 8000 (VNet)
  • TriCaster
  • Show Control (SCS)

Cause

  • Equipment wasn't properly booted up in the appropriate sequence, therefore not recognizing peripheral devices.

Resolution

Power cycle equipment in the following order
  1. Power down SCS computer first, TriCaster second, DMP-8000 third, and then the VIP-4060
  2. Power back on in the following order: VIP-4060, DMP-8000, TriCaster, SCS computer.

    • For systems shipped before July 9th, 2015

    For Temporary Operation

    • If content plays from the SCS computer onto the video board using SCS Scripts, try the following to see if TriCaster video will play.
    • Shutdown and restart the DMP-8000 while leaving the TriCaster booted.

    • Once the DMP-8000 is rebooted, shutdown and reboot the TriCaster.

    • TriCaster video should start playing on the video board through the DMP-8000

    👉If the above work Around does not work, try unplugging the power cord from the DMP 8000 instead of a normal Shutdown and restart of the DMP-8000.
