No power to client radio; Issue with ribbon cable powering radio

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to communicate to the display from inside through the radios.
  • Client radio has no LEDs lit, has no power when it is plugged into the input QC (quick connect) card on the display.
  • Using a RJ45 to 10-pin QC cable,  can connect directly to the back of the display and is able to communicate.
  • Using the same cable, plugging it into the client radio does not provide power to the radio.

Environment

  • Product Family: Message Displays
  • Product: Galaxy, Galaxy Pro (M2, M3, or M4 controlled displays)
  • Component: Ethernet, Serial Radio
  • Control System

Cause

  • Ribbon cable between QC card and the controller is not well seated or is unplugged.

Resolution

  • Plug ribbon cable into both the QC card and the controller or reseat the connection (power is provided to the client radio through this connection).
