DMP-7000: AVI’s not playing

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus 7000 controller loses the ability to play AVI files after running for less than 24 hours.

Environment

  • DMP-7000

Cause

  • Venus 7000 checks AVIs to determine if compressed or not before playback begins .  Some codecs work better than others and some may eventually malfunction causing a memory leak.

Resolution

Update Venus 7000 software used uncompressed files.  If assistance is desired for a software update, please contact Daktronics Technical Support.

Note: Virtual Dub is a recommended free program that can be used to convert the compressed .AVIs to un-compressed.  For help using Virtual Dub, please reference How do I Uncompress Video Files Using Virtual Dub?
