Lehigh Valley IronPigs Bring Big Video Experience To The Ballpark

Daktronics Installs 3,160-square-foot display at Coca-Cola Park

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 7, 2017 – The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have turned to Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, to bring new LED technology to Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, featuring the largest display in the Minor Leagues using a 16:9 aspect ratio. As the IronPigs begin their 2017 season, nine new video displays totaling more than 4,500 square feet are ready to entertain their fans.

"The best fans in Minor League Baseball deserve the premier entertainment and fan experience that the industry has to offer," exclaimed IronPigs President and General Manager Kurt Landes. "Our fans will be happier than pigs in mud when they get their first look at these jaw-dropping HD displays provided by industry leader Daktronics."

The new main outfield display measures approximately 43 feet high by 73 feet wide and is more than triple the size of their previous display which was installed by Daktronics in 2007. It also represents an improvement in technology from 23-millimeter line spacing to a 15HD pixel layout for increased resolution and improved image quality as it contains nearly 1.9 million LEDs.

The new display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any variety of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

"We're proud to be a longtime partner with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and Coca-Cola Park to provide this new LED system as they come up on their 10-year anniversary," said Peter Dunkle, Daktronics sales representative. "The new displays incorporate technology with superior brightness, contrast and viewing angles that will enhance the fan experience for years to come."

Additionally, five ribbon displays were installed along the seating fascia and two auxiliary displays were installed inside the stadium. These displays provide supplemental graphics and information to the main display as well as provide opportunities to highlight sponsors throughout events.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology features industry-leading environmental protection for a long lifetime with consistent performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
