Jacksonville State University Unveils New Daktronics LED Video Display

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 12, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota was asked to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display this summer for Jacksonville State University (JSU) at their stadium in Alabama. The university recently unveiled the new technology inside Burgess-Snow Field at JSU Stadium versus Liberty University and it will be showcased this Saturday as the Gamecocks host the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.

"The new state-of-the-art digital video board is a great enhancement to JSU Stadium," JSU Athletic Director Greg Seitz said. "JSU is committed to giving its great fans the best game-day experience possible, and with the installation of the largest video board in the Ohio Valley Conference, we are thrilled with the results."

The new video display measures roughly 12 feet high by 80 feet wide and features a 13HD pixel layout – the same technology as used at Auburn University, home of the largest video display in college football. The technology brings wide-angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadium as well as industry-leading environmental protection to ensure consistent performance in the outdoor elements.

The display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

In addition to the football video display, the university opted to upgrade their fixed-digit scoreboard at JSU Soccer Field.
