Groupe Nduom Brings New Daktronics LED Displays To Elmina Stadium

22+ square meters bring light to each end of the venue

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 25, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota was selected by Groupe Nduom to bring two new LED video displays to Elmina Stadium in Accra, Ghana, as the Elmina Sharks FC play in the Ghana Premier League. The project was completed this spring as the displays are currently operational within the stadium and having an impact on live events.

Ashiaki Wilson-Tei, an Associate of GN's Business Development Department said. "We were highly pleased with the entire process and working with Daktronics. Our goal is to have a facility with a quintessential design and amenities that would not only make sports and entertainment accessible to the people in the area. We're hoping to appeal to major players in the sports and entertainment industries such as CAF, etc.  By being extremely efficient, the Daktronics team played a huge role in us progressing in this major project and I definitely see us working together again in the future."

Located at opposite sides of the main seating bowl, each display measures 3.84 meters high by 5.76 meters wide and features 10-millimeter line spacing crisp, clear imagery throughout the stadium. Capable of variable content zoning, the displays can show one large image or multiple zones of varying content including live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, animations and sponsorship messages.

Mathieu Verbraken, Daktronics development manager for Africa and Western Asia, said "It has been a pleasure to work with the professional team of Groupe Nduom. The addition of the digital scoreboards to Elmina Stadium will enhance the game-day experience and make it the leading venue for Ghana football. Football is big in West-Africa and it is nice to see stadiums installing world-class equipment from Daktronics. With Daktronics displays being installed along roads, inside malls, airports and stadiums, we look forward working with Groupe Nduom and their partners on many more projects in and around Ghana."

Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation.
