California State University, Bakersfield Receives Big Upgrade With Daktronics Displays

Unique double-sided centerhung, audio system added to Icardo Center

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oct. 5, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, introduced a unique double-sided centerhung system and custom audio system at the Icardo Center for California State University, Bakersfield. Roadrunner fans will be informed and entertained with the new 300-square-foot system at events this fall.

"This is a huge upgrade to the Icardo Center that will have a significant impact," said Karen Langston, Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs and Capital Projects. "We wanted to create the best game-day atmosphere possible and we believe it will add so much to the fan experience and to the student-athlete experience. The board looks terrific, but I am particularly impressed with the sound system."

The two centerhung LED video displays each measure 9.5 feet high by 16.5 feet wide and feature 6-millimeter line spacing to bring crisp, clear imagery to every seat in the arena. These displays are capable of variable content zoning to show one large image or multiple windows of content including live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

Additionally, six digital LED scorer's tables were delivered to the Icardo Center. Each display measures 2 feet high by 6 feet wide and features 6-millimeter line spacing to bring additional statistics and graphics to the fan experience. They also provide the opportunity to highlight sponsors throughout events.

A custom audio system was integrated into the video and scoring system to provide an energizing, full-range sound experience and intelligible speech to the game-day atmosphere.
