Bryant University Welcoming New Daktronics Displays
Football, basketball and volleyball will have a new fan experience with LED video boards installed at Beirne Stadium and Chace Athletic Center
BROOKINGS, S.D. – May 5, 2021 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, in conjunction with Scoreboard Enterprises, has continued a long-time partnership with Bryant University for three new LED video displays, fixed-digit scoreboards and a centralized control room on campus in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Installation, coordinated by Scoreboard Enterprises, was completed in September 2020.
"The new video boards installed at Beirne Stadium and inside the Chace Athletic Center will enhance our Division I athletics program in so many ways," said Bryant University Director of Athletics Bill Smith. "Daktronics and Scoreboard Enterprises were so wonderful to work with. From start to finish, they shared the same vision we were looking for to enhance our overall game-day experience and we are so pleased with the finished products and I know our student-athletes, coaches and our fans agree as well."
At Beirne Stadium the new LED video display measures approximately 20.5 feet high by 36 feet wide and features a 13HD pixel layout. It features industry-leading environmental protection to ensure it operates as expected in the outdoor elements.
Inside the Chace Athletic Center two new LED video displays are installed, one at each end of the arena. Each measure more than 8 feet high by 15 feet wide and features 3.9-millimeter pixel spacing to bring crisp, clear imagery to fans in every seat. Below these displays are new fixed-digit scoreboards to share all the game information fans expect throughout each event.
"Throughout every step of the project it was an absolute pleasure working with the leadership and project team at Bryant University," said Mike Renwick, Scoreboard Enterprises. "We are excited to be continuing this long-standing partnership and assisting in creating an enhanced experience for the Bryant community."
All the LED displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to share any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
Bryant University also received a new control solution to run their game-day operations from one centralized location for both venues. Daktronics included its powerful Show Control solution with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution. "This project is exciting in many ways. The 3.9-millimeter video displays in the Chace Center present live video in outstanding clarity and the 13HD display installed at Beirne Stadium will enhance the fan experience," said Peter Dunkle, Daktronics sales representative. "Another key element is the central LED display control system and video production system. Located in the Chace Athletic Center the creative and production teams can direct the event production for multiple venues across the entire campus."
In addition to the equipment installation, Bryant University will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
