Steps

Corning Unicam LC and ST fiber ends

Require the use of a Corning UniCam Termination Kit (Dak part# TH-1119). Kit TH-1119 includes a Precision Cleaver. The Precision Cleaver is recommended for multi-mode and required for single mode terminations. Use of the older "Beaver Cleaver" (Bend and Break) is not recommended.

Fiber Specifications

  • Fiber Cable Specifications
  • Typically fiber for Commercial applications (Galaxy type displays) uses 62.5 micron multimode fiber.
  • Typically fiber for Video applications uses 50 micron multimode fiber. 
  • Scoreboards can use either 50 or 62.5 micron multimode fiber. 
  • Single mode fiber can be used in Customized applications. 

Corning Field Installable Fiber Optic Connector Tool Kit

The standard UniCam connector installation tool kit (TKT-UniCam) is a basic installation tool kit used to terminate all UniCam connector styles, including SC, LC and ST compatible connectors. This is the standard fiber optic tool kit, part number th-1119, used by Daktronics to terminate fiber optic cabling.
