VFC Controller: How to update firmware on a VCB

Steps

Method 1: Updating locally with a USB memory stick.

  1. Download the VCB Display Interface firmware(s) Link to VCB firmware  to your memory stick. Choose VFC-DMP505x.
  2. Download the files that the arrows here indicate
  3. Capture.PNG
  4. Insert the memory stick into J3 on the back of the VFC. (Kingston brand is preferred. other brands might not work)
  5. Log into the VFC by pressing enter on the keypad.
  6. Enter the password and press enter again.
  7. Select Shared.
  8. Select Update.
  9. Select Display.
  10. Select DD2295229_vcb_ii_micro_production_bootload_hid1F00.hex
  11. Select Confirm.
  12. Wait for it to say success on all steps. Wait for it to finish 100%.
  13. Select Shared.
  14. Select Update.
  15. Select Display.
  16. Select DD2295229_vcb_ii_epld_production_bootload_hid1F00.hex
  17. Select Confirm.
  18. Wait for it to say success on all steps. Wait for it to finish 100%.

Method 2: Updating remotely through the webpage interface.

  1. Open an internet browser to log into the VIP board of the VFC controller.
  2. Type the controllers IP address followed by :85 into the address bar. Example 10.3.20.75:85
  3. You will be prompted to enter the password in the popup window.
  4. Select Firmware from the Dashboard.
  5. Select Update and browse to the VCB file example: DD2295229_vcb_ii_micro_production_bootload_hid1F00.hex.
  6. Click on the open button.
  7. Wait for it to finish 100%.
  8. Select Update and browse to the VCB file example: DD2295229_vcb_ii_epld_production_bootload_hid1F00.hex.
  9. Click on the open button.
  10. Wait for it to finish 100%.
