DMP: How do I enable audio in the DMP HTML web user interface?

Topic

  • How do I enable audio in the DMP HTML web user interface?

Environment

  • Product: DMP-5000, DMP-8000 version 7.19 and later
  • Components: User interface, HTML Configuration UI
  • Control System
Activating Audio sets the audio output. Not all DMP-5000/8000 series players support audio playback. If no speakers are connected to the player or if audio output is not desired, set the audio as Inactive.

Steps

  1. Log into the web interface. See: DMP: How do I use the DMP-8000 HTML web user interface .
  2. Click on the left side menu and select the Wrench icon.
  3. Select Audio from the list of options.  *Location of feature may vary based on version.  Also found under the Output config. See examples below.

To use audio, select Active.
In most cases, audio playback is handled automatically alongside its associated media playback with minimal audio-specific user interaction required.

When the player is not in internal keying mode, it can play audio in two different ways:

  • Embedded Audio Clip - Audio is natively embedded with video files.
  • Audio Clip - Separate audio files are not embedded with video files. The player does not currently support playback of independently selected audio. A player cannot play any audio that is embedded in a video unless the video is playing.

When the player is in internal keying mode, it can play audio in two different ways:

  • Embedded Audio - If the video source being passed through the player has embedded audio, that audio will be played from the player.
  • Assigned Audio - If the video source being passed through the player has no embedded audio, separate audio can be assigned to play with the video.
