Environment

  • Product: Nova MCTRL 600, Nova MCTRL 660, NovaStar VX4S, NovaStar brand sender box and receiver  cards
  • Components: NovaLCT-Mars
  • Control System: Market Standard or Limited Compliance using transmit common/open protocol
This includes but not limited to DVN-4003, Dragon sticks, J Series, JVX, U Series, Q Series, QVN, Z Series, and ZPN.

Steps

  1. Connect power and signal.  Refer to appropriate resource below:

    3. U - 2.9, 3.9, 5.9 Series Sectional Installation Quick Guide
  2. Install the NovaStar program on a computer or DMP within the system.  Installer found here https://www.novastar.tech/downloads/

  3. Will this system need a video splitter?
    1. If yes, follow the steps in this: NovaStar: How to configure a DIS-300 splitter with Sender Box
    2. If no, move on to the next step.
  4. Configure the sender box. Follow the steps in this article: NovaStar: How do I configure a NovaLCT-Mars Sender Box? .
  5. Will this system use peripheral equipment with a multi-function card?
    1. If Yes, follow the steps in this: NovaStar: How do I configure the Multi-Function Card MFN300? .
    2. If No, skip to step 8. 
  6. Will this system be using a light sensor?
    1. If Yes, follow the steps in this article: NovaStar: How do I configure the light sensor? .
    2. If No, skip to step 8.
  7. Will this system be using monitoring? (Do this if using NovaStar's Monitoring.)
    1. If Yes, follow the steps listed in this article: NovaStar: How do I install and configure monitoring
    2. If No, skip to step 8. 
  8. Test your system. Follow the steps in this article: NovaStar: Control System Verification
    1. If a success, the system has been successfully installed.  
    2. If not successful, contact Daktronics for additional support as needed.
