Content Studio: How do I configure custom Top/Bottom Inning Indicator for baseball via sport media RTD

Topic

  • How do you create MediaRTD for Top/Bottom Inning Indicator in Content Studio?
  • I want to use arrows or some other graphic to signify the top or bottom of an inning.
This article is meant to show you how to put Media RTD into use. Refer to Show Control System: How do I create content with sport media RTD fields?

Environment

  • Product: Content Studio
  • Component: DakStats Baseball, Data Studio Baseball, Content Studio, DMP-8000, DMP 7000
  • Control System: Show Control System (SCS)

Steps

Saving media

DMP-8000 Supported File Types:  VMPL, VMPF, AVI, BMP, JPG, JPEG, PNG, MPG, MPEG, and SWF
  • Images must stored in the MediaRTD folder, located under C:\Program Data\Daktronics\VNET4\Content\MediaRTD

DMP-7000, see Venus 7000: How to display bitmaps based on data fields?

Naming media

  • Images must match the same name as the RTD field it will be linked to.
  • The data comes into the Daktronics system as the letters T and B. Therefore, the file for the top indicator should be T.png and B.png for the bottom indicator.
Import the RTD field
  1. Drag & drop the data element into your presentation.
  2. Check the "Is media RTD" checkbox.
  3. A popup window will open. Browse to the image you wish to associate with the RTD Field.
  4. When you select a file, you are not necessarily selecting the image that will always appear, rather a place holder that will allow you to properly place where you want the Media RTD to appear. The content that appears will depend on the naming of the files and the corresponding data.

RTD fields to use

  • Game Stats: DakStats BA - Top/Bottom Indicator (T/B)

  • Game Stats: Data Studio Baseball In-Venus Feed - Top/Bottom Indicator (T/B)

Source

  • DakStats Baseball
  • Data Studio Baseball

Considerations

  • Typically, brightly colored arrows or dots placed above or below the inning number are used on top of a solid colored background.
  • The example below would be the Top of the Inning indicator, with the file named T.png
TBver2.png
  • The indicator will switch automatically as the innings progress in DakStats or Data Studio Baseball
