Playlist Active in VCS does not appear on Sign or Dashboard; Service not running or locked up

Potential Symptoms

  • Display and dashboard are both playing old content after playlist and media was removed from Venus Control Suite.
  • Deleting content from DMP will cause the display to blank, but old content will be back on the display next time it polls Venus Control Suite.
  • Old content rotating on display and will not update or remove.
  • Server computer keeps sending out old content even though playlist is not associated.

Cause

  • Daktronics Venus Schedule Generation service is either locked up or not running.
    • When the service is not running VCS will not generate new schedules and therefore the player will pull the old outdated schedule that is still on the VCS server.

Resolution

  • Restart or start the Daktronics Venus Schedule Generation service or restart the computer.
