Daktronics Selected to Join World Sign Associates
BROOKINGS, S.D. – June 5, 2013 – World Sign Associates (WSA), one of the premier sign industry trade associations, recently invited Daktronics (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., to join as an Associate Product Member (APM).
WSA comprises nearly 155 sign manufacturers and 25 suppliers throughout North America. As an APM, Daktronics will team up with both sign companies and other suppliers when needs arise.
"WSA is founded on a culture of collaboration, and Daktronics is committed to following that footprint as a partner to WSA and its sign companies," explains Heath Rasche, reseller development manager at Daktronics. "We are excited to be among this group and look forward to furthering the organization’s mission and vision."
Paul Fuchsel, WSA’s president and owner of La Crosse Sign in Onalaska and Badger Display Sign in Madison, Wisc., feels WSA’s purpose differs from other organizations within the industry.
"It's a tight-knit family with members supporting members, using each other to do service, sales and installation throughout North America. You know that the person you call for help is going to have a strong ethical background and will support you," Fuchsel explains. "We want our APM members to have a special, one-on-one relationship with the sign companies that belong to this group."
Criteria for acceptance into WSA includes:
- high ethical standards; peer recommendation
- knowledge, innovation, reliability and quality
- sound business practices
- high quality standards
According to Fuchsel, WSA selected Daktronics based on longevity in the industry, but more importantly, for the stewardship provided for the entire industry.
"Many members in WSA use Daktronics already. Daktronics has given so much to the industry through its legislative work throughout North America," shares Fuchsel.
One of the most valued areas of membership is WSA's winter, spring and annual meetings.
"It gives members an opportunity to build relationships beyond the casual sign show or maybe an associate sales person from an APM company would be able to walk through a sign shop. During our meetings, APMs get to network with the sign company owners two to three times a year to build those relationships in a deeper way."
