Time is off on Venus Control Suite controlled display, time zone is set correctly on DMP/VIP

Symptoms

  • Time is off on Venus Control Suite controlled display, even though the DMP, VIP & VCS time zone is correct.
  • Display may be disconnecting and reconnecting intermittently to VCS.
  • Display may be playing old content and not respond to schedule changes.
  • Upload Error Runtime Log error in IDM.

Environment

  • GS6
  • VCS (Venus Control Suite Daktronics Hosted)
  • Version 7 DMP-8000 firmware
  • DMP-5000 Firmware's
  • Visiconn
  • DB-4100

Cause

  • NTP client disabled or missing in DMP-8000 configuration.

Resolution

*If you are uncomfortable with these steps or do not have NTP listed, please contact Daktronics.

  1. Connect to the DMP-8000 web interface.
  2. Click the Advanced tab and then Configuration sub tab.
  3. Search for NTP.
  4. Check the box next to Enabled.
  5. Click the Send Configuration button to save changes.

Workaround

  • Set correct time manually by using the Set Time/Date button, on the tools tab, in the DMP web configuration.
