Venus Control Suite: Display blanks during certain messages; Message title contains special characters.

Potential Symptoms

  • Certain messages are blank on the display.
  • Message that will not play has special language characters in the file name.
  • Boot sequence will stop and start over once it gets to showing the display size.
  • DMP player blanking after certain messages.
  • Playlist download may not complete, and download arrow may hang.
  • VCS monitoring shows the display alternate between messages and "No Content Playing".
  • Higher than normal data usage may be seen.

Environment

  • Product: GS6, DB-4200, M-series displays
  • Component: DMP-8000, DMP-5000, M-series Bridge
  • Control System: Venus Control Suite (VCS)

Cause

  • Content name contains invalid characters. (I.E: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - ' ).

For Temporary Operation

  • Rename the message(s) without using special characters.
