Receiving a fatal error in Content Studio when trying to drag or import a media file into a layout, .NET Framework 4.0 corruption

Potential Symptoms

  • When dragging content from the media library into a layout in Content Studio, receiving a fatal error. "A drag operation is already in progress" and prompts termination of the software.
  • Error log file for Content Studio shows "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): A drag operation is already in progress."
  • Sometimes double-clicking on the media file and importing that way will work, but when a new layout is added the same error will occur.
  • Venus 1500 v4 repair does not resolve the issue.
