Qatar Royal Celebration Halls Receive High Definition Daktronics LED Video Displays

10 displays installed in 2014, 10 more slated for 2015

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Feb. 24, 2015 – As part of the new Royal Celebration Halls project in Doha, Qatar, American-based Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has installed 10 LED video displays at one location in 2014 and has been contracted to install 10 displays at a second location in spring of 2015. The project involves the construction five high class Royal Celebration Halls throughout Qatar.

"When the government of Qatar trusted eMediaNet to implement various systems at the prestigious Royal Celebration Halls, eMediaNet decided to make these halls showcases using the latest state-of-the-art technologies, reputable manufacturers and leaders in their field. For these reasons, Daktronics was selected to play a major role in these projects," said eMediaNet CEO Mohammed Hejazi.

"After dealing with Daktronics, they proved to have the best LED display for our applications. Not only do they have superior quality LED displays, but Daktronics customers also enjoy high-quality, responsive professional support for their installations," added Hejazi.

Of the 10 displays installed in 2014, four measure 2.25 meters high by 3.25 meters wide and the other six measure 5 meters high by 9 meters wide for true high definition picture quality. Each display features a tight 6 millimeter line spacing of SMD (Surface-Mount Device), or 3-in-1, LED. This technology allows for greater resolution in a smaller space, greater contrast for crisp and clear imagery, and wide viewing angles to appeal to a wider spectrum of audience locations.

Each of the five celebration locations consist of five individual halls, each hall accommodating up to 500 guests. The five halls at one location can be joined together for larger celebrations of up to 2,500 guests. The displays will provide an additional entertainment element to all events held at these lavish locations.

At the first location in 2014, Daktronics installed two LED video displays in each hall. In 2015, Daktronics will again install two displays in each hall. These 10 new displays will feature the same technology and the same measurements as the 2014 installation.

"Daktronics is always proud to be associated with prestigious developments and landmark projects, and this project is no exception," said Ahmad Dahmash, Daktronics regional sales. "We're excited to complete the installation at the second location this year and look forward to seeing these displays enhancing events at this Royal Celebration Hall."
