NC State Raises New Daktronics Centerhung Video System

Visual centerpiece coming to Reynolds Coliseum

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Aug. 4, 2016 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with NC State University for a new four-sided centerhung video display system at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, North Carolina. In total, nine new LED video displays were installed this summer.

"Reynolds Coliseum stands as one of the most iconic structures on NC State's campus, and Daktronics has delivered an exceptional component to our renovation," said NC State Deputy Athletics Director for Internal Operations, Michael Liptiz. "The new centerhung display will be the visual centerpiece of an enhanced spectator experience."

The four main centerhung displays each incorporate 10 millimeter line spacing and each measures more than 7 feet high by 13.5 feet wide. They will provide excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility for a great view from every seat in the coliseum.

"We're excited to provide this new video display system for NC State and their athletics department," said Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative. "The displays will add to the amazing atmosphere that is sure to be part of the newly renovated Reynolds Coliseum. We're thankful for the opportunity to further our long-standing partnership with NC State and we can't wait to see the new displays fired up."

The four main displays are capable of variable content zoning which allows each display to show one large image or to be divided into multiple smaller windows to show any combination of live video, instant replays, game scoring and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.

An LED ring display measuring 2 feet high by 44 feet in circumference and featuring 15 millimeter line spacing is attached to the bottom of the centerhung.

Two ribbon displays featuring 10 millimeter line spacing are mounted to the north and south seating fascia. Each measures 2 feet high and they will combine for a total of 51 feet in length.

Reynolds Coliseum also received two LED ribbon displays, one installed on each sideline. These displays each feature 10 millimeter line spacing and each measure 2 feet high by 9 feet long.

The ring, ribbon and scorer's table displays provide the opportunity to supplement content shown on the main displays as well as offering sponsors the ability to send their messages to attendees throughout events.

In addition to the equipment installation, NC State will also receive digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens and venue announcements at the request of the university.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
