Honda Center To Install State-of-the-Art, High Definition Daktronics Video System

New display system will be four times larger than current equipment

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Feb. 6, 2015 – Hockey events in California will soon be more exciting as Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with Honda Center and the Anaheim Ducks to design, manufacture and install a new high definition LED centerhung video display system. The 10-display centerhung configuration will be installed in the summer of 2015 to bring an elevated fan experience to all events held at the venue.

"We could not be more pleased to make this announcement knowing this upgrade will take the Anaheim Ducks live game experience to a new level," said Tim Ryan, president/CEO of Honda Center and executive vice president/COO of the Anaheim Ducks. "With a much larger display area and superior HD quality video and sound, this upgrade certainly falls right in line with our ownership's commitment to keeping the Honda Center among the most technologically advanced arenas in the world."

The overall dimensions of the centerhung system will be 28.5 feet tall by 36.5 feet wide and consist of four main video displays in a rectangular shape hanging above center ice. The two displays on the sides of the configuration will each measure approximately 20 feet high by 31 feet wide and the two displays on the end will each measure approximately 20 feet high by 20 feet wide.

These four main LED video displays will provide excellent image clarity and contrast by incorporating a tight 6 millimeter line spacing. They will also feature variable content zoning which allows them to show one large image to highlight live video and instant replays, but they can also be separated into multiple zones or windows to show a multitude of content including scoring information, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics, animations, sponsor messages and more.

"Daktronics is proud to continue our relationship with the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center," said Jay Parker, Daktronics vice president of live events and spectaculars. "We are excited to install a state-of-the-art HD display in the arena and are confident fans will enjoy the vast improvement in size and clarity."

Four corner wedge shaped displays will measure approximately 20 feet high by 2 feet wide to provide additional display space between the main centerhung displays. An upper ring display will circle the top of the configuration and will measure 3 feet high by 118.5 feet in circumference. A lower ring display will circle the bottom of the configuration and will measure 3 feet high by 112 feet in circumference.

These displays will also feature 6 millimeter line spacing as they are capable of showing dynamic and provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and cater to fans with additional statistics and game information. All of the centerhung displays feature wide viewing angles to appeal to fans in every seat of the arena.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
