Daktronics High-Resolution Full-Color Single-Line Embedded Dynamic Message Sign Approved by Traffic Engineering Research Lab (TERL)
BROOKINGS, S.D. – January 30, 2015 – Daktronics Inc. (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D announces its latest addition to Florida Department of Transportation's TERL-approved product listing. Known for a highly selective process in choosing top-quality digital displays, TERL recently approved Daktronics most recent transportation innovation, a single-line 20mm HRFC (high-resolution, full-color) dedicated dynamic message sign, the VM-1020 Series LED display.
In addition to expanding Daktronics product offering, the VM-1020 features variable character and background colors such as black letters or numbers on a white background. The sign's HRFC capabilities allow agencies to match the display's background color to the static signage according to MUTCD (Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Displays) standards. Available in standard character heights of 12" or 18", the displays also aid in applications requiring High Occupancy Tolling, travel time or advisory messages. With a majority of the electronic equipment housed in a roadside cabinet for easy maintenance, the VM-1020 Series combines capability with functionality in an easy to use display system.
Mike Weinberg, Transportation Product Manager, commented, "We're dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers by offering new products that allow agencies to meet their objectives of safe and effective traffic management on their roadways. To-date, TERL has approved 6 series of Daktronics dynamic message sign displays and traffic cabinets. We're pleased to add another choice to our transportation product offering with the addition of a full-color embedded dynamic message sign."
