Five Daktronics Displays Lined Up for New Multipurpose Venue in Obetz

BROOKINGS, S.D. – June 2, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, will cement a solid presence at Fortress Field this summer, the location of a new multipurpose arena in Obetz, Ohio. The venue plans to hold concerts, lacrosse, soccer, football and rugby games as well as other outdoor events. Five video displays flank the arena, coupled with a Daktronics audio system. The marquee display measures 32 feet tall by 10 feet wide and features 15-millimeter line spacing while four video displays range in size from 104 to 576 square feet, featuring 10- and 15-millimeter line spacing.

Built on the old Columbus Motor Speedway site, the venue was paid for by the City of Obetz with the different event holders acting as tenants. Now, when spectators approach the hollow, square-shaped building, they will be greeted by a 9-feet-high by 32-feet-wide LED message display while walking through the entrance, followed by an 8-foot-high by 13-foot-wide video display paired with custom courtyard speakers for an audio experience within the building's quad.

After exiting the courtyard to the back of the stadium bleachers, a 10-foot-high by 16-foot-wide video display ensures visitors won't miss any of the action by giving them a glimpse of what's happening on the field. Once visitors find their seats, two video displays, each measuring 17 feet tall by 32 feet wide, cap off the far corners of the field. One display also has audio for complete fan interaction. All videos will feature crisp and colorful imagery with respective 10- and 15-millimeter line spacing.

"Daktronics is honored to be a partnered with the Village of Obetz for their new multipurpose field. The video displays in the field will connect fans to the team, scoring and replays while the Fortress video displays will make sure the fans don't miss a second of the action. We are all excited for this partnership!" said Thad Kaltsulas, Daktronics project manager.

As if the expansive field and amenities weren't enough, a second story patio on the building's mezzanine will serve as an entertainment area, complete with a bar and concessions below.

Whatever the event at Fortress Field, it's sure to draw a crowd. While the population of Obetz stands at 5,000, the stadium seats 6,500.
