Davidson College's Belk Arena to Receive New Daktronics LED Video Displays

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Aug. 29, 2016 – Davidson College has asked Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, to design, manufacture and install two new video displays for John M. Belk Arena inside Baker Sports Complex on campus in Davidson, North Carolina. One display will be placed at each end of the area and will be ready to entertain Wildcat basketball fans for this upcoming season.

"Thanks to the generosity of some very dear friends of our basketball program, video boards will be added to Belk Arena," said Head Coach Bob McKillop. "This is another big step forward for Davidson Basketball as it will create an even more exciting game atmosphere for our great fans."

Both of the displays being installed will measure approximately 12 feet high by 26 feet wide and feature a 6 millimeter line spacing. These displays will offer excellent image clarity and contrast while also incorporating wide angle visibility. They feature variable content zoning which allows them to show one large image across the entire display or they can also be separated into multiple zones to show combinations of live video, instant replays, scoring and game statistics, animations, and advertisements.

"We're excited to be a part of this project to bring an elevated fan experience to Belk Arena for Davidson basketball," said Corey Williams, Daktronics sale representative. "This is a sizable upgrade that is certain to have an impact from the first event to many, many future years of operation. We're looking forward to the start of the season to see the displays in action."

In addition to the equipment installation, the Wildcats will also receive a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens and venue announcements at the request of the college.
