Daktronics Display to Add Excitement at Iowa Cubs Baseball Games
New 15HD LED video display coming to Principal Park in March
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Feb. 26, 2015 – Iowa Cubs fans will have an enhanced game-day experience this year as Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has been selected to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display for Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa.
"Our new state-of-the-art Daktronics video board will be able to do everything but a backward somersault, pike position," said Iowa Cubs principal owner Michael Gartner. "It will provide more information and more excitement for our fans. They're going to love it."
The new display will feature a 15HD pixel layout for clear, crisp imagery and deep contrast with wide angle visibility ensuring a great view from every seat in the venue. It will measure approximately 24 feet high by 62.5 feet wide and incorporate industry-leading environmental protection.
The display features variable content zoning which allows for one large image or multiple zones. This provides the team with flexibility to show any combination of live video, instant replays, scoring information and statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsor messages.
"We're proud to be involved with this significant upgrade for Iowa Cubs baseball at Principal Park," said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. "The confidence the Iowa Cubs have shown by selecting Daktronics says a lot about our industry-proven, high-quality product. We're excited to be a part of this and we are looking forward to the first game showcasing the new display."
Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
