Go Big or Go Home: Crosby ISD Installs Fourth Video Display

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 18, 2017 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, is keeping busy with video displays for Crosby Independent School District in Texas, with four displays now installed around the grounds. Crosby ISD has seen many changes recently with a new school building and fields. Daktronics received the first order for a massive 28-feet-tall by 48-feet-wide football video display showcasing 13HD pixel spacing. It was such a success that Crosby followed up with orders for three more displays for their basketball gymnasium and ball fields.

While it's no surprise the football team would feature a video display, it's rare to have a video display for the softball team, and with 20-millimeter line spacing. The Southern expression, "Go big or go home" rings true for all Crosby extracurriculars. The baseball field hosts an exact twin display as the softball field. Not to be outdone, the basketball team has a 6-millimeter video display atop a scoreboard in the new gym.

It's easy to hear the pride in Dr. Moore's voice, Crosby's Superintendent. "Our facilities were already top notch, but the addition of the video boards has taken the spectator experience to a whole new level. I've had nothing but positive remarks from the community. Boards of this quality have made our facilities one of a kind."

Jareel Combest, Daktronics sales representative, explained, "Crosby's football purchase went so well that they let us know they wanted to order additional equipment not long after. They were ready to go bigger, and Daktronics was ready to help them expand."

Crosby ISD is home to more than 6,000 students in the metropolitan area.
