BROOKINGS, S.D. – Sept. 26, 2014 – Daktronics Inc. (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D., has partnered with the University of Central Oklahoma to upgrade their football stadium with a new LED display system and also install a state-of-the-art audio system.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Daktronics on the installation of a new video board system in Wantland Stadium. The dynamic quality of Daktronics will provide a level of clarity that will be unmistakable to fans this fall," said Athletic Director Joe Muller. "We look forward to unveiling this new system that will enhance the game-day experience for UCO student-athletes, Broncho fans, Edmond high school football fans and the Edmond community for years to come."
Broncho fans will be pleased to see the new renovations at Wantland Stadium when they head to the field on game day. The football field received a new video display that measures approximately 35 feet high by 35 feet wide and incorporates a 15HD pixel layout.
This display demonstrates excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while providing multiple levels of protection from the elements. It is capable of showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays. It can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.
Wantland Stadium will also be incorporating four scorer's tables at their basketball arena that will each measure approximately 2 feet high by 9 feet wide and will feature a 10 millimeter line spacing. These displays will provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and provide up-to-the-minute statistics and game information.
A Daktronics audio system, which will be integrated with the video and scoring system, was also added to the stadium. The system provides full-range sound reproduction and delivers clear and intelligible speech to provide a powerful audio experience for the fans. Daktronics audio offers high quality audio systems that can integrate with dynamic displays in indoor and outdoor sport venues.
In addition to the equipment installation, the University of Central Oklahoma also received a bank of hours for the creation of digital content to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Create Services, an award-winning in house creative team. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens and venue announcements at the request of the University of Central Oklahoma.
"Daktronics is very pleased to be a part of the installation at Wantland Stadium," said Sales Representative Perry Grave. "The facelift at Wantland Stadium will in no doubt increase the game-day experience for the fans. These displays will also provide the Bronchos much more flexibility in the promotion of their sponsors and supporters."
