Barry University Selects Daktronics for Video and Scoring Upgrades in Arena

About Barry University

BROOKINGS, S.D. – June 8, 2016 – When Buccaneers fans head to basketball and other events this fall, they'll be welcomed by LED video and scoring enhancements provided by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, for the Health & Sports Center on campus at Barry University in Miami, Florida.

"We're excited about the new partnership with Daktronics and the video board/scoreboards we are installing in the Health & Sports Center," Barry University's Director of Athletics, Michael L. Covone, said. "We think our students, fans and alumni will be impressed with the new look when they return to campus. Daktronics is the world leader at informing and entertaining audiences through dynamic audio-visual communications systems."

One end of the arena will feature an LED video display measuring more than 7 feet high by 12.5 feet wide with 10 millimeter line spacing for excellent image clarity and contrast. The wide angle visibility of the display ensures a great view from every seat in the arena.

The display features variable content zoning which allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple sections to show any variety of live video, instant replays, graphics, animations, statistics and sponsorship messages.

"Daktronics is extremely honored to have been selected as Barry University's video and scoring provider," said Mike Kempany, Daktronics sales. "The new system will transform the way they are able to entertain Buccaneers fans and provide a new dynamic medium for generating advertising revenue. In addition, the university will have a showcase system among their peers in the Sunshine State Conference. We thank them for their trust in Daktronics."

A 2.5-foot-high by 12.5-foot-wide fixed-digit scoreboard will be installed directly below the video display. A 7-foot-high by 17-foot-wide fixed-digit scoreboard will be installed at the opposite end of the arena. These scoreboards will highlight game time, score, possession, period, player statistics and foul information throughout the entire game.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
