Steps

Pixlr is a free cloud based photo editing program that allows users to resize images.  Daktronics recommends when resizing an image to start with a picture that matches the dimensions of your display, or is no larger than three times (3x) the sign size.

  1. Go to http://pixlr.com/x/
  2. Drag and drop your picture or click on "Open Image"2021-12-17_8-06-48.png
  3. If you only want to resize an image skip down to Step 7. Continue on to Step 4 if you want to create a transparent image first.
  4. To create a transparent image click on "Cutout on the left.

  5. Choose "Magic Cutout" and adjust your "Tolerance" accordingly. The higher the tolerance the more sensitive the cutout tool will be to removing adjacent colors to the color you pick. 2021-12-17_8-10-28.png
  6. Once you select your color it will remove every instance of the color within the boundaries. If you need to remove every instance of the color in the entire image then uncheck "Contiguous". 2021-12-17_8-18-01.gif

    • Uncheck "Locked Proportions" to adjust one aspect without automatically changing the other.
  9. Click "Apply" on the popup.
  10. Click "Save" at the bottom.
  11. Choose if you want to save it as .JPG or .PNG.
  12. Then click "Save As" at the bottom of the popup and save the file to the drive or folder of your choice.
