About Us
Our History
Long recognized as a world leader for its excellence and innovation in scoring and display systems, Daktronics had a need for robust and reliable scoreboard hoist systems, thus beginning a close relationship with a New York-based rigging company, Hoffend and Sons, Inc. From the early 1990s, the two companies worked together on many unique and ground-breaking arena rigging projects.
Daktronics acquired the Vortek family of products through an asset purchase in 2006. With the acquisition, Daktronics gained the experience and history of a company acknowledged for its leadership and rigging innovation since 1917.
Today Vortek is the product name of Daktronics rigging systems designed and manufactured at its Victor, New York, facility.
Our Applications
Performing arts centers, school theatres, worship facilities and other entertainment venues rely on the ability to set up and run complex lighting, sound, audio-visuals and scenic effects to stimulate audience interest. Multi-purpose facilities and sports arenas require custom designed hoists to fit any rigging application.
