Using Signage to Attract Business

When Seth Skogen prepared to open the newest restaurant in Brookings, South Dakota, he knew the store would need a sign that would attract traffic from the busiest street in town. A challenge for a Culver's owner is making the sign easy to change, since the restaurant features a "Flavor of the Day" custard every day it's open. Using a changeable copy board works, but especially in South Dakota winters, this option can be both dangerous and difficult, leaving more opportunity for on-the-job injuries.
The Daktronics Solution
Daktronics used their Rapid Delivery program to provide Culver's with a display in two weeks. Because of the program, Culver's was able to have its digital display in time for the grand opening.
Skogen said that in addition to the flavor of the day, the store also promotes seasonal specials, like pumpkin shakes during the fall and lemon ice during the summer. He said that he decided to go with a Daktronics display based on what he knew about the company and the support of the staff.
"I decided to get a Daktronics display because of the reputation of the company and the quality of their products," he said. "During installation, we had five or six people helping out, getting the sign working. It was great!"
