The “No-Brainer” Decision
18th Amendment, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
The Challenge
"We have Daktronics displays at our other locations, so when we opened the 18th Amendment, getting a Dak display again was a no-brainer."
Rob Harrocks, General Manager,
18th Amendment
When Rob Harrocks, General Manager of the 18th Amendment, and his partners opened their first business in Sioux Falls, SD, they had a simple static sign. Over the years, they have opened five additional businesses. Each establishment has improved it's signage from static sign, upgraded to a monochrome digital display, then again to a full-color display. When the 18th Amendment Bar opened in September 2010, they knew from experience that they would have a Daktronics LED display to announce their new business.
The Daktronics Solution
The 18th Amendment's Galaxy® 3500 display has made a huge difference in their business. "LED technology is much more likely to catch the customers' eye, and you can quickly and easily change the graphics and messages," said Rob. Even in the short time they have been open, the 18th Amendment has already seen the effects of their sign. "We have run a few contests, and we definitely see an increase in customers when we are promoting a contest or specials on the display," Rob said. "We are very happy with the results."
The display was an important part of the plans from the very start. The cost of the display was figured into the construction and opening budget. "We have Daktronics displays at our other locations, so when we opened the 18th Amendment, getting a Dak display again was no-brainer." The display allows management to schedule content in advance and can schedule different messages for the time of day. They also take advantage of Daktronics content catalogs to supplement their graphic designer’s content.
