The Challenge

Several of Saskatchewan's casinos operate under the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), a company with casinos in almost every corner of the great prairie province. With more than 2 million guests annually and ranked among the top 50 businesses in Saskatchewan, SIGA continually seeks to keep their business a successful one.

As the gaming and entertainment industry competes with other markets for customers, SIGA started to look for a solution to draw in those customers. They decided that they needed to search the market for something to attract the attention of new customers and keep current customers returning.

The Daktronics Solution

SIGA sought out the signage company, Knight Signs, to create a message center that would meet their needs. Knight Signs purchased and installed three 20-millimeter GalaxyPro® LED video displays for three major SIGA casinos:

Golden Eagle, Bear Claw, and Northern Lights. With a display at every casino, the 8-feet by 13-feet GalaxyPro® display with its double face draws motorists traveling past any of the casinos with time and temperature and video advertisements.

All the casinos that replaced their existing, outdated, incandescent message centers,purchased from Daktronics years ago, upgraded with more up-to-date Daktronics products. Now, with environmentally friendly displays using less energy, the casinos can add, change, and update content at the click of a mouse rather than operating with only a text option that used an excessive amount of energy in comparison.

The Sign Company

Knight Signs, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has sales and service divisions located throughout Canada and parts of the United States. They contracted with Daktronics and installed four GalaxyPro® displays for SIGA to date.

Roland House, Knight Signs account manager, said the installation process went smoothly, something that he states is always the case when working with a Daktronics installation team. Roland also mentions that Daktronics is thorough with their installation process reaffirming his expectations of Daktronics to provide the best in service and support.
